my href is not working

You are missing the > sign after <a href="something here". Look through all your <a> and correct this. Should be like the following:

     <li><a href="cakes.html">Some text here</a></li>

your <li><a href='pies.html'Pies</a></li> should read <li><a href="pies.html"Pies</a></li> also as mentioned above you are missing the > sign from your the <a> tag
