What am I doing wrong that its not evaluating the function?

I thought to access the h1 tag we have to get the element by its id ("first_name")...any suggestions?

app.js
var fullName = document.getElementbyId("full_name");
var lastName;
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head></head>
<body>
<h1 id="full_name"><span class="first_name">Andrew</span> <span class="last_name">Chalkley</span></h1>

<script src="app.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

You made a typo error should be document.getElementById() not document.getElementbyId().

var fullName = document.getElementById("full_name");
