What does the "i" represent?

Where does the "i" come from? What does it represent? edit: After viewing the code I noticed that the text is italicized. Is that what the "i" does?

If you are talking about html it does. so a tag with <i>hello</i> will result in italicized hello. In JavaScript people sometimes use an 'i' as a counter. Include your code so we can see what your are talking about.
