What does the transpiler do with the Map or Promise objects?

I'm running some bits of ES2015 code through the babeljs.io playground, and it just seems to leave Map and Promise objects as is in the "old" javascript. How does that work with the old browsers?

Babel adds polyfills for those. Read more here: https://babeljs.io/docs/usage/polyfill/
