What does var_dump mean?

Help! I'm learning with PHP basics and I don't understand the var_dump concept. Ive tried going over the video several times. I hear the explanation but it doesn't make sense to me. Does anyone know of a different way to explain how it works? Thanks

Hi Jessica,

The short of it is that it quite literally 'dumps' all the information about the variable to the screen. Have a look at the example give in the PHP documentation and see if that helps to clear it up for you. :)
