What is the preferred browser to use?

I use Firefox. It seams quirky when I launch a workspace. It doesn't open the workspace in a new tab, it launches in a new window. When I preview my workspace, it opens in a tab in the first window. When I refresh my preview, it opens in a new tap in the first window. I'm running Windows Vista.

They use chrome in all their videos from what I've seen so far. I use firefox, though, mostly because I'm used to it. Some of the things they show you in their videos won't work in firefox--I still use firefox though because I'm then forced to find what will work for firefox and chrome instead of just chrome.

I've continued to develop in firefox because I've found that it helps me learn to develop better cross-browser support skills. To each their own though.

Thank you. I'm just a long time fan of Firefox so I was just sticking with what I like. But I like the way you think, so I'll start playing around with Chrome.

Hey, Chrome is best browser for web developer and many web developer using chrome always.

Chrome is what Treehouse designs to.

I am surprised you are using Vista, not 7. You might want to consider changing to Linux Mint on a dual boot. It can be easy (although not always) to create the dual boot. I have windows 7 and Mint on this computer and am always using Mint. Vista has a ton of bugs and problems.

I didn't have a need for a dual boot. I'm on Vista because its an old laptop that was given to me. I didn't want to invest in a windows upgrade because it's running fine for basic home computing needs. But, as it seams, if I'm going to get into web developing, I should use additional OS's. I will install Linux Mint as soon as I can. Thank you for all the advice!

I understand the gift computer. It is just that Vista is such a slow OS that I was surprised. I had a computer crash in Windows and loaded Mint, then set up a virtual box for Windows. Windows runs faster in the Virtual Box than when it was installed on the computer.

There is nothing wrong with Firefox, especially if you install Firebug. You will find some cutting edge CSS that requires vendor prefixes to display.

I'm running Chrome and I have the same issue as you do. I find it annoying but I haven't been able to fix it.

Hey Eris Smith,

Which type of issue you getting in your chrome? Tell me i'll solve it.

When I open the workspace, it opens in a new window, instead of a new tab. Then when I preview the workspace, it opens back up in the original window, in a new tab. I would love for it all to stay in one window.

Hey i think this is bug. update your chrome. If you get a issue back then simple right click on workspace and choose the option "Open link in new tab".

I have purchased a new laptop since I first posted my question. I'm still using Firefox and it still launches Workspaces in a new window rather than a new tab. I'm used to it now and it's now big deal since my new laptop is much faster (much, much faster) than my old clunker :) It's running Windows 10, I'm going to install Linux on it also.

Your settings control whether a window or tab opens. Read this discussion on the HTML. It does not say how to change it, but does discuss your issue.
