The console keeps telling me it is not the correct answer. It says that looks like I am not using the %s, which clearly is not the case.

String pastTenseVerb = console.readLine("Get verb: ");
System.out.printf("%s really %s this coding exercise.",name,pastTenseVerb);

System.out.printf("%s really %s this coding exercise.",name,pastTenseVerb);
Because we are working with the console to display our output you want to call the console class.
console.printf("%s really %s this coding exercise", name, pastTenseVerb);
