What to do about "path to long error"?

While trying to extract files for the android dev env I keep getting a path to long error. Any help would be much appreciated.

where are you extracting them too? maybe try changing the location you are extracting them to to something different. if you extracting to a path thats deep in your hard drive, the full path may be longer than what windows allows. try creating an empty folder at the root of your c drive, and extracting it there
