When I do this on my screen it works >>>sundaes = ("banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white".split(;))

This pertains to the question on splits.

Yes your code is valid however this is not what it wants you to do. He wants you trying break apart the available variable, which is assigned to the string.

available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(";")
