why doesn't the cursor move to the end of the line as it's supposed to when i click "ctrl+right arrow" or "ctrl+left arrow"?

That's very odd. Have you tried any other combinations such as alt + right arrow (normally one word at a time on a PC I think - it is on a Mac anyway) or shift + right arrow (normally selecting one letter at a time)? It's possible that the keyboard setup means one of these do the function instead.

919 PointsCtrl + Arrow only goes one word at a time for me also (Win 8.1, Chrome). Alt + Arrow goes to the end of the line for me.
