When use the Direct Selection Tool it only moves the object around & won't let me change the shape. Why? I am using Ai CC and can't understand the problem.

11,157 PointsAre you using a picture (jpg png gif etc)? I know with Direct Selection tool, you can transform the shapes made in Ai, but I think if it's a picture you need to use something else to change it.

1,997 PointsThank you, I solved the issue by double clicking the anchor point. However when using the pen tool, my AI doesn't show the anchors allowing for greater manipulation.

Treehouse TeacherI had this same issue with Ai CC. Played around and found a solution. With direct selection tool selected (no pun intended), I double clicked outside of the object and it deselected all of the anchor points. Then I was able to move individual anchor points like Mat showed in the video.
