where do I apply the .toUpperCase() method in the problem?

Directly to 'developer' in line 3 or on line 4 as a new line and if so how do I format correctly?

Hi Ethan,

The .toUpperCase() method gets attached to role in the concatenation you've done. You'll also need to put a space after the colon and get rid of the period concatenation at the end. The answer checker is very precise in this case.
