I don't know if you have figured out how to fix your problem, but I was stuck on this part also and finally cleared up my confusion.

If you listen to the video closely, he says to get the file from the Project's Downloads.

  • If you look under the video, there are 4 Tabs (Teacher Notes, Questions, Video Transcripts, and Downloads)
  • Look under Downloads and you will see a zip file, Project Files.
  • Download Project Files to your computer, unzip and you will see Zack's style.css file.
  • Copy this file to your child folder and then continue following the video.

Hope this helps.

is it a problem if i did not use fille zilla while installing? (didnt do the 5 min install thing.. ) im so stuck.. if i copy the css file on finder it does not add the "child" on it and i cant do the next step as well...

If you're using a file manager or ftp to see the files, or even opening the files on your desktop, it's in wordpress > wp-content > themes > open the theme you're working with > it should be listed there.

From within the WordPress dashboard, under "Appearace> go to "Editor" > select the appropriate theme from the dropdown on the upper right. Scroll down the files on the righthand column and it should be close to the bottom.

thnx Jenny.. but i triend copping it from the Parent theme on my finder but after opening it, i see that the css is not the same as shown on video...

Are you using the same theme as the one shown on the video?
Also sometimes there are minor changes when a theme update occurs so it wouldn't necessarily be exactly the same, but the css would be mostly the same, I'd think.

YES the first line as shown on the video is the name, that the "child" added to it.. this is what i meant by "the css is not the same".. i can't figure out whats wrong

if anyone is looking - its added on the Video Transcript below the video

of you can see a different way to do it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbU12Tw7Q4U
