"My company @treehouse was acquired today.

We taught 600k students coding and saw thousands get their 1st job in tech - zero student debt! Grateful to have been part of this important work.

I'm excited for the next chapter in my life. I have 100 ideas already (mostly web3)." - said Ryan Carson

Hi Patryk,

UPDATE: After answering this forum post I published a blog post detailing the acquisition and where Treehouse goes from there: https://blog.teamtreehouse.com/treehouse-a-new-beginning.

Nice to meet you and thank you for the question. My name is Jason Gilmore and I'm the new Treehouse CEO. Treehouse was acquired by Xenon Partners. Xenon owns and operates a number of well known software-oriented companies, including Integrate.io, UXPin, Packagecloud, and Baremetrics.

This opportunity to join the Treehouse team is a dream come true, as I've spent a large part of my career helping others become proficient software developers. Over the years I've authored 9 programming-related textbooks, and spent several years as Apress' Open Source Editorial Director. During my time there edited more than 70 books on a wide variety of programming topics. I'm also co-founder of CodeMash, a popular software-oriented conference that celebrates its 15th year in 2022. Over the years I've conducted countless workshops for organizations around the globe, training teams on topics like Laravel, Git, Ruby, MySQL, and other topics. In summary, helping others learn how to write software is endlessly thrilling, and I'm very excited to continue down this path at Treehouse.

As for what you can expect in the future, you can be certain we'll be releasing more great content that has made Treehouse such a destination for online learning! In fact, our team is currently hard at work on several new content updates that will be released soon.

Additionally, we're working on some exciting new features that will help both users and organizations more effectively track learning progress across the platform. Also, throughout the year we'll be rolling out some exciting new services to help connect our large student community with a wide variety of employment opportunities in the technical industry. This bridge to career opportunities will be made available to all Treehouse students, whether you're enrolled in a standalone account, via a local library, or via one of our many non-profit partners. We'll share more details about all of these initiatives soon.

Should any Treehouse student have further questions, I invite you to reach out to me directly at jason.gilmore@teamtreehouse.com.
