Why add the specific version of shoulda matchers in the Gemfile?

Why do you suggest to look at the installed version of shoulda matchers and then specify it in the gemfile?

This ensures that when you go back to the app 1 or 2 years down the road, you'll get the same version of shoulda-matchers as you had when you started. Because different version numbers can introduce breaking changes, keeping your versions consistent can save you hours of debugging.

Thanks :-)
