l have just create an employee and get the url http://localhost:3000/employees/101 instead of http://localhost:3000/employees/1 any idea what am doing wrong?

56,413 PointsIs the employee you get from the url the same as the employee you created? If so then there isn't anything wrong; it was just given a different id in the database on your local system.
