Why displaying "month long string of the day" instead for running the program?

Why when we included the exercise.php file and refreshed the page, the program didn't run in the browser? What is the meaning of "month long string of the day"?

can't figure this out either... I know this text is coming from the variable within the exercise.php file:

$exercise6 = 'Month long string of the day';

but why does the index.php file runs this particular variable and attached string? I am doing this exercise on a Thursday, so it ain't day 6 (that would be Saturday). really can't come up with a logical explanation so hopefully somebody can explain to me what is happening here

In line 12 of exercise.php, $day = 6; sets the day number to 6 regardless of the value of $day in line 11.
