Why do most of these not have the project files for download?

Seems like it wouldn't take that much effort, and it would make it a lot easier to follow along on our own. Right now I have to take screen shots of the images in the video.

Is there something I'm missing here?

Treehouse keeps pestering me to put a best answer, but none of these are the correct answer, which is should be from Treehouse saying: "Sorry about that, we've gone ahead and uploaded the files to those lessons". So, I'll mark this as the best one.

I've got a couple questions that I've been unable to choose a "best answer" for. I don't know if I can 'best answer' my own answer, though. :) It's like liking your own Facebook post.

I must brood on this...

I KNOOOOOOOWWWWWW. It doesn't work exactly the same with another image and, if did we could get more information out of the video and know that we were doing it right when it looks the same.

I agree with the original poster. Even a link to the images online would be helpful. I see there are plenty of flower images when I do a search, but it would be easier to follow along and learn if I had the same images.

It's been awhile since I did that particular course, so I don't remember if there were files to DL or not. However, nothing says you can't use your own images. The instructor is simply showing you the fundamentals of the PS tools. Try the instructors directions on some of your own images and see what you can come up with...

Finding your own image is a good exercise in resourcefulness & creativity, since there aren't any files, why not have some fun with it? It's the concepts your after anyway and beyond this course, you'll need to be doing a lot of playing around and experimenting to really learn how to use photoshop, why not start now!

While I can see where you're coming from, for an absolute beginner, which I was when I was taking this course, sometimes you need the materials laid out for you so you can get down the basics. The lessons for this were based around specific images, so it would make sense that they would include them to make things easier to follow along.

Nah, I noticed the same thing. Many of the videos reference project files for download but I can't find the link. I have seen this in the Rails track.

Ah, I guess you have a point, Kyle, I'm used to playing around and figuring it out myself!

To Vikzilla III That is an awesome link! Snarky, but useful for the internet.

I know this thread is old, but I got both of my pictures off Pexels. It is more about learning the technique and I've found that if you make the project into something geared towards you, it'll be more enjoyable and you're likely to learn more since you'll experiment with it more.
