Why does my twentysixteen child theme look different?

I uploaded my twentysixteen child theme, but it looks very different from the twenty sixteen theme. It has no style to it. It looks like an html page with text. Any idea as to where I went wrong. Thanks!

Never mind guys! As soon as I posted this question I decided to check if there was anything wrong with my style.css. Instead of typing @import I write #import.

My mistake.

Also "twentysixteen child theme look different" might/could look different because they could update the theme i guess. Lots of tutorials treehouse makes, are outdated in a short period of time, which makes us, students, learn how to debug things id guess, and solve them. They might look different etc..
