iOS Swift Basics (retired) Control Flow While and Do-While Loop

Why is my code NOT giving the error code?

When following the code I came across an interesting outcome. My do-while loop does not produce an error and when i look at my index variable there is no value shown. The loop produces nothing either. As my code is identical to the video I can only presume this is some change with newer version of Swift, is it something to do with variable scope?
