Why is possible to @extend the placeholders in _extends.scss when it's imported at the end of the _index.scss ?

@import "footer";
@import "containers";
@import "columns";
@import "extends";

Since they don't output to CSS unless extended, the import order doesn't really matter as long as they're within the same scope as the rule you're extending from.
