Why is the package index also known as the cheeseshop?

not really important, but ending your video on using-pip, you mentioned that the python package index is also known as the cheeseshop... Is this just something I don't get because I am a brit, or is it just for people in the know? I'd also love to know why it is called the cheeseshop

"Tell me something. Do you have any cheese at all?"

It's not truly known why it's referred to as "The Cheese Shop"

From the Python wiki CheeseShop:

"Whether that name was chosen because CPAN contains so many packages at that time remains in the dark zone of rumours and wild speculation."

As a Brit, you should actually know more about this :) The Cheese Shop sketch
