Why is there so much space at the end of each div?

When using height: 100%; why is there so much space at the end of each div? Seems a bit odd. Not sure anyone would want that much white space? Is this why we use floats and deal w/ the extra baggage? What would the work-around be for this method?

Hey Daniel,

It sounds to me like you are probably dealing with default padding and margin. Without seeing your site my best advice would be to check out those elements in your inspector tools.
