Why isnt my code going through ?

Could someone please point out if there is anything wrong with my code ?

BOOL levelFinished ; 
int rubies = 0 ;
int rubyReward = 7 ;
int rubyMax = 50;

while ( rubies < rubyMax ) {
  rubyReward = rubies ++ ;
if( rubies >= rubyMax ) {
  levelFinished = true ;

I don't know Objective C so this is a guess but could it be the space before the ++? So it would say rubyReward = rubies++
