Java Java Basics Getting Started with Java IO

Why isn't this code working?

I typed this out and it seems to work with the question but why is it getting an error?

IO.java
// I have imported java.io.Console for you. It is a variable called console.
import java.io.Console;

public class Introductions {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
      Console console = System.console();
      String firstName = console.readLine("What is your name? ");
  }
}

Your code is correct but it won't work in the exercise environment, because the class and method declarations are already provided for you in the background. So the only line you actually need is this:

String firstName = console.readLine("What is your name? ");
