PHP Integrating PHP with Databases Using Relational Tables Querying Multiple Tables with JOIN

Why link the SQL basics course when it has zero information on the clearly more advanced SQL concepts used here????

I've done the SQL basics, reporting with SQL and modifying data with SQL courses and at no point that I can remember do they go into the concepts that are being used here.

Then the next activity is a coding exercise based on this concept that has had zero explanation, other than the fact that it's used to join relational databases.

I've got to say the JavaScript course was fantastic. I loved learning HTML and CSS on treehouse as well but the PHP course isn't up to scratch by comparison.

Convoluted questions and explanations and key instructions that are simply stated once and glossed over without further context to help clarify what they do and how they do it.

I'm really sorry Treehouse but this needs to be improved.

Treehouse did make a course covering these advanced queries and relational databases. https://teamtreehouse.com/library/querying-relational-databases

I was very surprised to see that this link wasn't included at the very beginning of this course, but it is strongly recommended to take that before watching this video to understand the types of joins that Alena uses.

For further examples, I referenced Socratica's YouTube SQL videos, especially this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yeOJ0ZMUYw
