Why not add <pre> to $email_body ?

To me this is much cleaner and is reusable. Is there a reason we shouldn't add <pre> tags to the $email_body variable?

$email_body = "<pre>";
$email_body .= "Name: " . $name . "\n";
$email_body .= "Email: " . $email . "\n";
$email_body .= "Details: " . $details . "\n";
$email_body .= "</pre>";
echo $email_body;

Good question , anyone can answer it?
