This is just a general suggestion but I have run into some challenges where task 2 is failing but task 1 is being reported as the one with the error.

I would recommend to look at your current task in more detail before ensuring that task 1 is in fact at fault.

For example in an instance task 1 was only to declare a variable while step 2 was the use of a variable along with a method. Task 2 had a misspell on the method used but task 1 was listed as not longer passing. I knew for a fact that was not the case and was able to figure out this bug.

Not your fault! I think TTH should tackle this issue since there are plenty of threads just like yours.
