Why would one use a Multiple-Choice question for the Likert Scale as opposed to the Linear Scale question?

I feel like it'll be visually easier for users to answer the question if the Linear Scale question was used. Thoughts?

I felt like this sample was to show the possibilities.

In my opinion, the multiple choice is easier to read if you have a few questions in a row; especially on mobile.
