why windows return forward slash instead of backward slash with purepath?

Windows paths use forward slashes because of a design choice from years (decades) ago at Microsoft.

Purepath is a "generic class" that represents the OS flavor. Depending on where you instantiate it, it will create either a PurePosixPath or a PureWindowsPath.

I found this StackOverflow discussion interesting: forward slash vs backward slash - Difference between forward slash (/) and backslash () in file path.
