Word Count - Python Challenge

Hey

I have this code, but I'm getting the "Bummer! Try again!" error. I've written it in PyCharm and it populates the dictionary correctly, but can't see why the challenge won't accept it?

Could someone help please?

wordcount.py
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.

def word_count(string):
    new_dict = {}
    new_list = string.lower().split()
    for x in new_list:
        new_dict.update({x: new_list.count(x)})
    return new_dict{}

replace

return new_dict{}

with

return new_dict

FYI, you could write it like this as well:

def word_count(str):
    arr = str.lower().split()
    return {s: arr.count(s) for s in arr}

print word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am")
