word_count works only outside the challenge window. What's missed?

I'm trying to solve this challenge but it's been returning the same error for a while. I cannot find what I'm missing! I've been testing that on de VScode and that's working properly. Could someone please help me?

wordcount.py 
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.

def word_count(string):
    dictionary = {}
    string_list = string.lower().split(" ")
    for word in string_list:
        dictionary[word] = string_list.count(word)
    return dictionary
