General Discussion

Workspaces release notes.

Recently we've gotten some push-back when we add new features to Workspaces. Without knowing when these changes occur, it can be frustrating when your workspace is different from the video.

We're going to start publishing release notes for every new version of Workspaces.

Release notes are now available in a couple places.

From /workspaces

  • The current version is displayed in the footer right below your list of workspaces.
  • This links to a complete list of changes at /workspaces/changelog

From the editor

  • When we release new features for the editor, we'll automatically display some brief release notes in a new document titled changelog.md (very similar to welcome.md).
  • The latest updates are available from Help → Latest updates.

We hope that now you'll be better informed when we make changes.

How do I get my code back, I accidentally deleted the index html, index css, Resume html, and Resume css.

Andrew Olson, the forum has had a large number of questions regarding issues with uploading images to Workspaces. Are there any known issues with that?

Also, are there official recommendations on which web browser, and what to do for the best experience with Workspaces?

We're currently working on a fix for the file uploads.

A lot of people prefer Chrome, but most modern browsers should be compatible with Workspaces.

It feels like there should be more training and troubleshooting help for students on Workspaces. It's the number one question on the forum. Thanks for the update.

Dustin, the file upload issue should be fixed now.

Thanks for the suggestion. We've discussed the idea of a curated help section specific to Workspaces. We're currently working on a few other things right now, but when we wrap those up, that might be something to take a look at next.
