Would woocommerce be a good option for services?

This video series seemed to gloss over selling services. Would woocommerce be an effective option for this as well? For example, if you are hosting a class with space for 25 students on a certain date, or you offer personal training for $25 per hour. Is there a popular plugin for services? Or is woocommerce just as effective with this type of sale?

Hi,

Some general idea (doesn't have to be rule) is that you use Woocommerce for smaller stores with more simple products and to use platform like Magento for more advanced store and more complex products (complex in sense of attributes for example). Some will argue that Woocommerce has more and more add-ons that can achieve everything that Magento can which is also not far from the truth but leaves a lot of space for discussion. In sense of courses, many people will say that Moodle is right solution.

Nevertheless to answer your question: YES! in your case, you can definitely use Woocommerce and it 100% can offer that kind of performance. Be aware that this is not by default solution and that you will need to add custom attributes, and adjust Woocommerce for your needs.
In case you want easier (not free) solution, Woothemes already offer the solution: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/sensei-woocommerce/

NOTE: as Treehouse member you have discount on Woothemes products which can be handy in this case.
