Xcode gives error cannot convert return expression of type '[Point]' to return type 'Point' return results

The compiler is telling you that it cannot convert an array [Point] to a single Point object, which is the return type of the function.

Probably because you are returning just a Point object, and not an array of Point. Make sure that you are returning an array of Point, like this: func surroundingPoints(withRange range : Int = 1) -> [Point]{ //code goes here }
