1 hour work of individual = Work/Time

**Calculation:**

1 hour work of pipe M = 1/14

Both pipes can drain out the water completely in 10 hours.

⇒ 1 day work of pipe M and pipe N = 1/10

Let pipe N alone drain the water out of well completely in x hours.

⇒ 1 hour work of pipe N = 1/x

⇒ (1/14) + (1/x) = 1/10

⇒ 1/x = 1/35

⇒ x = 35 hours

⇒ Total time taken by pipe N to drain the water completely = 35 hours

Total water drained out by pipe N out of well in 1 hour = 15 litres

⇒ Total water drained out in 35 hours = 35 × 15 litres = 525 litres

**∴**** Capacity of well is equal to 525 litres. **
