CSS CSS Basics (2014) Enhancing the Design With CSS Media Queries

How to set font-size to 1.4rem

I am using this code to try to set the font-size of .title to 1.4rem.
Why does the system continually say that it is wrong??? Please advise.

@media (max-width: 768px) .title {font-size: 1.40rem; } h1 {font-size: 5.00rem; }
}

style.css
/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */
@media (max-width:1020px)
  {.main-header {background: tomato;  color: white;
  }
@media (max-width:  768px)
     .title {font-size: 1.40rem;  }
      h1    {font-size: 5.00rem;  }
  }
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>Lake Tahoe</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="page.css">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css">
  </head>
  <body>
    <header id="top" class="main-header">
      <span class="title">Journey Through the Sierra Nevada Mountains</span>
      <h1 class="main-heading">Lake Tahoe, California</h1>
    </header>

        <div class="primary-content">
            <p class="intro">
                Lake Tahoe is one of the most breathtaking attractions located in California. It's home to a number of ski resorts, summer outdoor recreation, and tourist attractions. Snow and skiing are a significant part of the area's reputation.
            </p>
            <a class="callout" href="#more">Find out more</a>
        </div><!-- End .primary-content -->
  </body>
</html>

Your media queries are not set up properly, you've nested the 768px media query inside the one for 1020px. Your formatting is a little off in general, let's clean things up for consistency and readability:

/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */
@media (max-width:1020px) {
    .main-header {
        background: tomato;
        color: white;
    }
} /* this closes our 1020px media query */

@media (max-width:  768px) {
    .title { font-size: 1.40rem; }
    h1 { font-size: 5.00rem; }
} /* this closes our 768px media query */

If a selector has more than one property inside, I'll put each property on it's own line like we have for .main-header. If a selector only has one property, I leave everything on the same line like we have for .title and h1.

I ran through the code in WorkSpaces and you are missing an intro { - should be after 768px) or before .title

@media (max-width: 768px) .title {font-size: 1.40rem; } h1 {font-size: 5.00rem; }
}

Jeff Lemay is right. I noticed you were missing another one at the end of the first query as well..

Thanks all! Problem solved!
