Treehouse Moderator 91,252 PointsQuick Question about the PHP track
I noticed that the courses Building a simple PHP application and Enhancing a simple application have been removed from the PHP track, and that's fine of course as they're around 3 years old.
But the complete-ist in me wants to finish them before they're retired (I'm assuming that's why they're going) so I clicked no to the preview. Would it be better if students were allowed the chance to finish the course on the track before updating the track?
I know I'm late to the party with these courses but it'd be nice for me to be able to finish them now I've started :)

Treehouse Moderator 91,252 PointsOn the contrary i was very impressed with the way the track started with Hampton. and then the next 2 courses in the track are about building on those things with a "real world" example with Randy
But since these are going, I;m afraid i can't comment on the rest of the PHP courses I've not taken them. :-)

19,573 PointsYou answered my Q right there. Haven't seen anything by Randy (just started the track a week or so ago after finishing Front End)
Will promptly and with haste go find these courses and go through them... ;)
The first couple of courses were fine then it jumped into slim and twig. I see the point of them, and the 'simplicity' but it does feel like learning a while new lingo (outside of the php part).

Treehouse Moderator 91,252 PointsYea I got a little lost when we started talking about linking PayPal Buttons, especially as the Paypal design has changed in 3 years but I get the basics :)

28,690 PointsIt may very well be it is because of the PayPal portions of the course that is was removed (I have no idea why in reality). Aside from that aspect, I thought the course(s) were alright. I recently started the 2nd course by Randy (the Enhancing one) but haven't finished it yet, although I suppose I should based upon this discussion. :)
I think the 2nd course is pretty handy to know as it's a bare intro to MVC just without using a framework, yet all the concepts are there.

19,573 PointsThis could answer my question I was about to post which is that I'm part way through the track and I feel they jumped right into slim and twig and it feels like a bit of a disconnect for me...
