What about Microsoft .NET?

Hey there, it's my third post here since I've started my classes! Hope I am not bugging anyone :))

I was wondering if there are any future plans for Microsoft technologies such as C# and other .net goodies.

Sorry we don't have plans for it anytime soon.

Open-source is here to stay!

I feel your pain in some ways, Sebastian. There are a lot of dot net jobs out there right now, but they're more legacy systems and enterprise systems.

I Began learning web design and development four years ago, and whenever I see job listings that demand .NET I figure they are older data systems that need maintaining. Which is fine.

There will be a need for C based skills forever and a day, but I see things like HAML and Sass eventually taking the place of .NET and SharePoint.

Now that .NET is open source is there a plan for developing/offering courseware? There are a lot of .NET jobs out there, and those legacy/enterprise systems are the foundation for a lot of stable jobs!
