Front-End Developer

Let’s talk shop: LightSpeed is on the hunt for a full-time Front-End Developer to join our new, San Francisco-based Development team. The primary role for this position is to build responsive and beautiful UIs for our web-based Point of Sale. • Create beautiful and functional web applications, with a focus on the client side
• Provide estimates for development effort
• Evolve and implement new and existing UIs
• Work with LightSpeed’s back-end systems team to deliver product features and functionality

• 3+ years experience developing production-grade software (preferably large systems)
• Ability to learn new technologies or paradigms
• Practical understanding of HTML5, CSS3 (prepocessors such as SASS or LESS a plus)
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript
• Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and solutions
• Experience building responsive websites
• Experience using JS Frameworks/Libraries (jQuery, Underscore.js, Backbone.js, etc.)
• Highly proficient in a UNIX/Linux environment
• Deep knowledge of Web technologies
• A keen interest in user interface design
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python, or Node.js
• Familiarity with test driven development in Javascript, RoR, Python, or PHP
• Familiarity with SASS, PhoneGap
