Web Designer

Treehouse is looking for a polished freelance web designer to tell the story of Treehouse, our product, and our customers.

You are a specialist in website design, you understand the components that contribute to a great online experience, and you can swiftly turn mockups into reality. You're as comfortable making design recommendations as you are incorporating feedback for change, and you do it all with a positive, solution-driven attitude.

• Effortlessly apply your expertise in digital design and web design principles to produce creative visual content for our consumer facing website.

• Create digital ads, social media, and occasional print assets for use by our marketing team.

• Proactively move design work forward under your own initiative and work on multiple projects at any given time.

• Apply design methodologies with qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions that solve key business problems.

• Accommodate other interdepartmental design requests and perform related duties as assigned.

• 3+ years of relevant web design experience, ideally at a tech-forward company.
• Wide-ranging portfolio of visual and web design work living in production, with a pinch of print design.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, HTML/CSS, and prototyping tools.
• Deep understanding of layout, typography, color theory, visual hierarchy, iconography.
• Effective visual and written communicator.
• Highly organized with an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and initiatives.
• Experience navigating at least one major rebrand is a plus.

• This is a fully remote, contract position.
• Hourly rate negotiable based on experience.
• We estimate approximately 30-40 hours of billable work per week, and we’re happy to structure the contract as a retainer.
