Legends are a part of data visualization,
too.
0:00
We're not talking about Babe Ruth,
Paul Bunyan, or Will Smith.
0:04
We're talking about the element of a chart
0:08
that shows the names of
each of the data series.
0:10
In our COGS chart,
0:14
we already have a legend in the chart
area, right here at the bottom.
0:16
You can choose to put your legend
on either side of the plot area or
0:21
have it overlap with the plot area itself.
0:25
Let's take a look at that right now.
0:27
So you can see, you can have it to
the right, move it to the top, left,
0:31
and then with more legend options.
0:36
There's an option to show the legend
without overlapping the chart.
0:40
So I wanna unclick that, and
I'm gonna move it to the top.
0:44
And you can see that now,
the legend is in the plot area.
0:49
I generally like to put my legend
at the bottom of the chart area,
0:54
not overlapping the plot area.
0:57
Sometimes, you don't even need a legend if
the chart only includes one data series,
1:00
for example.
1:05
Your chart title may suffice.
