    We're gonna be building on the concepts that we introduced, as well as revisiting 0:13
    and proving some of the projects that we built together in those previous courses. 0:16
    This time around we're going to be doing something a little different. 0:21
    Instead of using Workspaces, we're gonna move 0:24
    development onto our local machines and learn all about what that entails. 0:26
    We've used some of the Java development programs already, but 0:31
    we will now take time to explore them in more depth. 0:34
    Getting your environment up and running might be a little frustrating. 0:38
    Which is one of the reasons I waited until now to introduce it. 0:41
    I wanted to get your feet wet with the language, and for you to have 0:45
    an appreciate of its power, before setting you off on installation tasks. 0:47
    But now we're investing in a language we like it and 0:52
    we are ready to accept the challenge. 0:55
    I got an email from a student where she told me she was falling in love with Java. 0:58
    Now this installation process may require a little bit of that love, but 1:02

    wait until you see the power of an IDE, or Integrated Development Environment. 1:10
    For this course, we'll specifically be exploring the IntelliJ IDEA editor. 1:15
    Which is the same editor that is bundled for Android development. 1:20
    I will show off some tricks that can increase your productivity ten fold. 1:23
    IntelliJ also has a tool that will let you know when you've made mistakes 1:28
