A Testing Test help needed.

Hello!

Very stuck on this code challenge. I don't have experience with Object.assign() and got as far as I could with MDN before reaching out. If someone could explain why my solution is not working, I'd be appreciative. Code should be attached.

Thanks in advance!

clone_spec.js
var expect = require('chai').expect

describe('clone', function () {
    var clone = require('./clone.js');
    it('some description string', function () {

        // YOUR CODE HERE
        name = {name: 'Ryan'}
        expect(clone(name)).to.deep.equal({name: 'Ryan'});
    })
})
clone.js
function clone (objectForCloning) {
  return Object.assign({}, objectForCloning)
}

module.exports = clone

  name = {name: 'Ryan'}
 expect(clone(name)).to.deep.equal({name: 'Ryan'}); // pass {name: 'Ryan'} directly instead of assigning to name first

or

var expect = require('chai').expect

describe('clone', function () {
    var clone = require('./clone.js');
    it('some description string', function () {

        // YOUR CODE HERE
        var name = {name: 'Ryan'}
        expect(clone(name)).to.deep.equal({name: 'Ryan'});
    })
})
