Anybody else hugely frustrated the quizzes don't have a 'show answer' or 'get hint' option!?!?

Or even an proper explanation when you're wrong. And that you have to re-do the whole quiz to see the right answer. For a service running courses on development it seems pretty badly designed to me personally.

I'm finding it really really frustrating tbh.

Hey Edward I understand your frustrations coding is not easy. I think the reason they have the quiz function the way it does is to encourage further review. I know in the past if I have had trouble with a quiz I then referenced the video once again to double check my understanding on the topic. This repetition of information in my opinion, though slower than explaining answers through quizzes, cements the concepts for me personally a little better. The further repetition of then taking the entire quiz again is more time spent on the topic. Not saying your idea for a "hint" button or something isn't valid just relating my thoughts on your opinion.

Thanks Joseph. I do get where you are coming from. Obviously in the real world you will have to work out why something is wrong or gives an error, so it is good practice. That said, for example, I have just finished a quiz where one of the six questions I got wrong. It was a 'fill in the blank bit of code' question. When I got it wrong, it just gave me a message that said 'bummer'. It then just takes you to the next question. It does not give me an option to try again without re-doing the whole quiz. Re-doing the other five questions I got right is not good consolidation or revision when I have literally just done it and got them right. That's just a waste of time. And when you add that up over a course, given how much there is to learn, it just seems a ridiculously bad way of working. It's not an actual test, it should be about better learning. The same goes for having to do a community post every time and having to wait for an answer that comes through at some random time. It would be far better to let me access the answers and an explanation at the end of the quiz, or some hint. Or at the very least the ability to re-try!!! I'm fairly new to treehouse as you'll see from my score. To me, this particular bit just feels sloppy and unfinished - not about better learning.

So the point of this thread is to find like-minded people so that you can be frustrated together? :) It's a pseudo-issue, there's bigger problems in life. Take care!

There are always bigger issues, does that mean everything is redundant? In my experience so far the learning is made up of tutorials and quizzes. So it doesn't seem such a peripheral issue to me. The purpose of this post was to see if other people were perhaps experiencing the same, in which case it might be something teamT could look into to potentially improve. I suppose I can always rely on the community forum for answers instead of the quizzes, since they haven't been condescending or unhelpful at all :s
