You need to move the method inside of the class. you currently have it outside of the class which means that when you create an instance of the class, you will not be able to access that method to change values, since the method is not inside of the class.

Thank you Charlie Palmer I'm still getting an error and I don't visually see it and I don't understand so far this is what i have focus on the last part:

class GoKart { public static final int MAX_BARS = 8; private String color; private int barCount; private int lapsDriven;

public GoKart(String color) { this.color = color; }

public String getColor() { return color; } public void charge() { barCount = MAX_BARS; }

public boolean isBatteryEmpty() { return barCount == 0; }

public boolean isFullyCharged() { return MAX_BARS == barCount; }

public void drive() { lapsDriven++; barCount--; } }
