CSS Bootstrap Basics Using Bootstrap Components Building a Navbar

nav-bar toggler does not expand when clicked

Copying the code snippet below from Bootstraps, the toggler does not work (does not expand) when clicked, although it does get highlighted

<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-light bg-light">
  <div class="container-fluid">
    <a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Navbar</a>
    <button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-bs-toggle="collapse" data-bs-target="#navbarNavAltMarkup" aria-controls="navbarNavAltMarkup" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
      <span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
    </button>
    <div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navbarNavAltMarkup">
      <div class="navbar-nav">
        <a class="nav-link active" aria-current="page" href="#">Home</a>
        <a class="nav-link" href="#">Features</a>
        <a class="nav-link" href="#">Pricing</a>
        <a class="nav-link disabled" href="#" tabindex="-1" aria-disabled="true">Disabled</a>

Hi! You're not using the right scripts. It will work with these:

<!-- JavaScript Bundle with Popper --> <script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/bootstrap@5.0.0-beta1/dist/js/bootstrap.bundle.min.js" integrity="sha384-ygbV9kiqUc6oa4msXn9868pTtWMgiQaeYH7/t7LECLbyPA2x65Kgf80OJFdroafW" crossorigin="anonymous"> </script>

You can copy this from the Bootstrap website: https://getbootstrap.com/

Hey Gábor,

Cheers! I'm guessing at this point there have been so many updates to the Bootstrap scripts that the video is lacking some of the new scripts (already updated some when I got to this point). :)

This leads to my question -- is it better practice to rely on "internal" dependent files (js, css, etc) instead of "external" links? Because if the link changes, it may alter the content or make it non-functional. As a web dev professional, your client site may not work one day because of changes in the external links, and you might have to make an emergency update.
