problem with href chalange

Im not sure what I have wrong its telling me the line with for pies is not correct.

You are missing the first > in each of the three <a></a>. Instead of <a href="cakes.html"Cakes</a>, it should be <a href="cakes.html">Cakes</a>

Whether the link is in single quotes or double quotes does not make a difference.

Yes, as jb30 pointed out, on the pies line, you haven't closed your opening a tag with a >. Most HTML tags come in pairs. with the content to be displayed in the wrapped inside the two tags

The normal pattern is: <tag someAttributes>Inner part</tag>

or in your case <a href='pies.html'>Pies</a>
