const bonusPts = 50;

points += bonusPts;
console.log(points);

I am sure this is really easy, just not able to get it.

const means constant ,which is mean to never change though out its entire life circle in the code block. Since you are reassign points by adding bounsPts.It will get new value.So,you have to use let instead of const I encourage you to read this article,it will help you to understand about var/const/let

let points = 100;
const bonusPts = 50;

points += bonusPts;
console.log(points);
