It's complaining about the close-paren on the foreach line because the foreach statement is looking for as $var inside the paren. When it sees you close the paren before providing a var name to be used to reference the list item inside the loop, it throws an error :)

i.e. this is the correct way to write foreach loops (notice the as $name inside the paren)

<?php

$names = array('Mike', 'Chris', 'Jane', 'Bob');

foreach ($names as $name) {
    echo $name;
}
?>
